Air Travel
John Wayne Airport (SNA) is the closest airport to Dana Point, just 25 miles away. It's small, easy to navigate, and your best choice.
Long Beach Airport (LGB) is another small and manageable option, about 50 miles from Dana Point.
A little further, but also low stress is San Diego International Airport (SAN), about 65 miles from Dana Point. It provides more non-stop flight options from the east coast.
Last, and certainly least, is Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), which we would not recommend unless you have other business in LA.
